The fifth series of Égalité videos – created by the volunteer Mina Stevens (Philadelphia, USA), thanks to the collaboration with ImpacTrip – is dedicated to invisible and unseen disabilities. Or rather not known, or not understood enough to think about what is necessary to promote inclusion in any social context.
The five protagonists of the fifth series of Égalité videos, in alphabetical order below.
Fabiano Lioi (on the cover, next to Mina) shares the experience of a life lived 100% – traveling around the world in a wheelchair – between cinema, art, music and writing. (1) The approximately 450 fractures due to 'crystal bones' (osteogenesis imperfecta) prompted the writing of his unmissable book 'OI Art in a fracture' (2,3).
Antonio Menconi. Enthusiast and scholar of the art of bread-making, the extra virgin olive oil supply chains, cheeses and the many other delicacies that characterize the culture and traditions of the Italian territories, Antonio shares the experience of a gastric tumor and daily life with a ostomy. One of the many 'invisible disabilities' that deserve attention from everyone. (4)
Blindness and low vision they remain at the top of the list of disabilities ignored by the society that surrounds us, with the paradoxes – also widespread in Rome, among the streets and stations of the ATAC SpA underground network – of interrupted tactile paths and non-functioning acoustic signals.
Antonio Organtini illustrates the concrete commitment of the blind and visually impaired community in the S. Alessio – Margherita di Savoia service company for the visually impaired, in Rome, where he works as general manager.
Alessandro Napoli and Sonia Gioia, husband and wife, in turn work in the Communication and external relations area of the Sant'Alessio Institute. As well as offering voices, music and content to our Partner 'Radio 32 – the radio that listens'.
thank you again to our friends Fabiano, Antonio (Menconi and Organtini), Alessandro and Sonia. And to all of you, good vision, #égalité! (5)
