The Social Inclusion Festival makes its debut in Pomezia (Rome). 'Social doing business' is the theme to which the meetings are dedicated, on 6 and 7 November 2021, in the shopping center The Sixteen Pines in Via del Mare, km 18.600. Organic and local agricultural market, stands and debates with the network of associations.
The event - organized by Roma Open Lab, sister association of Égalité, together with UNOE (National Union of Events Organization) and EPL (Ente Pro Loco) Lazio - brings together associations, cooperatives and companies engaged in social promotion, voluntary work, agriculture and services.
Target of the Festival of social inclusion is to bring together the realities that can provide services and job opportunities to people with disabilities or otherwise disadvantaged. 'The event is an opportunity to discuss, share projects in progress and those in progress, networking at the regional level'explains Luca Zarfati, the president of Roma Open Lab who coordinates the event.
'Social inclusion means giving the same opportunities to every human being. People with a disability or in a condition of fragility due to seniority, pregnancy, economic and social disadvantage, want to be able to work, love and live like everyone else. They do not seek compassion, they want to express their human and economic potential. Therefore they need equal opportunities. And where these are lacking, the state and institutions must intervene in support ' (Luca Zarfati).
The first edition of the Festival of social inclusion is also dedicated to the presentation and fundraising for the project of the Smart Chair. A suspension wheelchair with electric traction, which our Égalité Onlus has developed and intends to produce without profit objectives, to offer an effective and accessible autonomy tool to all those who cannot or otherwise have difficulty walking.
The mall Sedici Pini, thanks to the sensitivity expressed by its director Modestino Meoli, offers its structures and resources at the service of a project that aspires to demonstrate how social inclusion is a virtuous path to be developed in synergy. By involving associations and cooperatives but also commercial enterprises, in the name of common objectives that relate to solidarity and the meaning of living together.
