July 6, 2023 goes online INAD, the Digital Domicile Index. Those who register, indicating their PEC (certified e-mail) will have a direct channel of communication with anyone who wants to send a communication with legal value, public administration (in primis).
The INAD system could implement the project launched in 2010 (and closed in 2015) by the then Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta. The project envisaged the free attribution of a pec to every citizen who requested it, subject to recognition by the Post Office (as for SPID).
The weakness of the initiative di Brunetta has also been attributed to the single-channel mode of the service, valid only for communication between citizens and the PA.
experience but it turned out to be a failure from the very beginning. The crash of the platform on the day of the landing online it marked the fate of a utopia (truly pioneering for the Italian bureaucracy) also sunk by the elephantine agility of the structures of the Italian PA, with the Regions in the front row.
Back to the present day, the INAD system collects certified mail addresses that can be used by the public administration, (in primis), to send communications with legal value, like a registered letter. This is the case of contraventions, tax notices etc.
It surpasses itself thus, for subscribers to the list, the risk of delays in receiving important communications. And there is no waste of paper currently used for registered letters.
Lists are available to everyone. To locate a digital domicile, just start the search by typing in the tax code of the person you are looking for.
To subscribe in the INAD it is necessary to have a PEC address and a digital identification system, ie

After registration on the dedicated site (https://domiciliodigitale.gov.it) you can change your tax domicile or cancel it.
