Jesolo, a renowned seaside resort, is the protagonist of the 'Accessible hospitality in pills' section of the show 'O anche no', on Rai 3.
15 km of sea with Blue Flag
The small town, part of the Metropolitan City of Venice, boasts 15 km of sandy coastline bathed by a sea awarded with the Blue Flag.
For a decade the administration and accommodation facilities are committed to creating hospitality for all, accessible to people with any form of disability.
Jesolo and Village for All
To put the turbo now intervenes in this virtuous process partnerships with Village for All, which supports and promotes the adaptation of structures, thus acting as a driving force for tourism with untapped potential.
In the episode of Sunday 13 August, from 11, (repeat on Monday 14 to 1) Roberto Vitali, founder of Village for All talks about the best strategies for traveling by avoiding architectural barriers and practical problems, advising tourists with accessibility needs and helping entrepreneurs and Italian tourist destinations to better understand the potential of a market that is present and that is often not considered.
The sea for everyone
The organization founded by Vitali does not issue any certification to accommodation facilities, but carries out an on-site check to ascertain the suitability of the declared accessibility. This was also the case for Jesolo, whose truly inclusive hospitality offer is collected and presented in every detail. (1)
Village for All check that the hotel rooms and bathrooms are organized 'in a workmanlike manner', that the beaches defined as 'accessible' have walkways that can be traveled over by wheelchair and the availability of special chairs for proceeding on the sand until reaching the sea.
The declared accessibility of accommodation facilities, in fact, very often it turns out to be a fraudulent trap. Even on the largest brokerage platforms, such as Booking.com, which we have reported (in vain) to the Antitrust. (2)
