On Friday 21 June 2024, the Belluno provincial coordination of Peace & Disarmament launches the Objection to war campaign, promoted by Nonviolent movement.
Two objectives of the campaign.
1. Faced with the reckless acceleration towards an armed conflict, which evidently needs soldiers; faced with the declarations of politicians and military leaders regarding the need to reinstate compulsory military service, reiterate that the defense of the homeland (art. 52 of the Constitution) in Italy (Constitutional Court, sentence 164/85) it is also fulfilled through appropriate non-armed social commitment behaviors.
Therefore invite all citizens, women and men, young people and adults, who do not intend to wear a helmet to sign the Declaration of Conscientious Objection, to say no to the call to arms and obtain the establishment of the Register of conscientious objectors who cannot be called up for war, but who want to defend constitutional principles with unarmed and nonviolent civil defence.
2. Support objectors, resisters and deserters Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Israelis and Palestinians for whom Europe is asked to open its doors and welcome them with the recognition of the status of political refugees.
In fact, in these countries the right to conscientious objection is not recognized to military service and the use of weapons, a fundamental principle recognized in the Charter of Human Rights and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union; true subjective right, recognized by the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and considered intimately connected to the exercise of individual freedoms.
The appointment It will be in Belluno, in the Sala Bianchi, Viale Fantuzzi, at 8:30 p.m. The Pordenone group of the National Nonviolent Movement will be present. For information, write to [email protected]For updates, visit facebook.com/PaceDisarmoBL.
